Hobartville Public School ICT

ICT Use and Access at Hobartville Public School

At Hobartville Public School, we are committed to integrating technology into everyday learning experiences to enhance student engagement and support educational outcomes.

Every classroom is equipped with an Interactive Whiteboard, providing dynamic, hands-on opportunities for students to interact with digital content and participate actively in lessons.

Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 have access to iPads and laptops, with a device-to-student ratio of better than 1:2. This ensures that technology is readily available as a tool to complement and enrich learning across all key learning areas.

Our approach to ICT is not as a stand-alone subject but as an integral part of the teaching and learning process. Whether it's using apps to reinforce literacy and numeracy skills, conducting research, or collaborating on digital projects, students use technology purposefully to deepen their understanding and develop critical 21st-century skills.

We also prioritise student safety and digital security. Students learn about cyber safety, responsible online behaviour, and how to protect their personal information in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

In addition, we use various online platforms to foster collaboration and creativity. These platforms enable students to share ideas, collaborate on projects, and explore innovative solutions to real-world problems.

We believe that thoughtfully embedding technology into our curriculum empowers students to become confident, capable, and responsible digital citizens, prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
